Yahoo has introduced a new tag this is will help web designers and webmasters to control what text on the page Yahoo robots will reference and is searchable.

The tag is called class="robots_nocontent", this tells Yahoo's spider slurp to ignore the content controlled by this class attribute.

As an example you may wish to tell Yahoo to ignore the footer or sub menus on your page and to focus on the test content within the page. Any part of the page containing a nocontent class will still be crawled but Yahoo won't use this information to calculate relevant keywords.

That's quite good for people who don't know how to do a robots.txt file I guess but if Google doesn't have anything similar then what's the point?

With that attitude, no one would ever improve anything! Perhaps Google will follow suit? Anyone got any news on that?
