Virtual Earth 3D is Microsoft's answer to Google Earth, an interactive map application with 3D and Birds Eye views. It's actually pretty cool, although still a bit buggy with lots of broken links— but they're constantly improving it.

There's also an API available for webmaster's to incorporate mapping features in their own site. Give it a spin at maps.live.com but be sure you use Internet Explorer.

Its quite useful actually because there are some areas where I am from that the google earth pictures are awful. The MS version uses photos from planes not satellites and so the pics are much better in many rural areas. So if a place doesnt look good on google earth its worth trying this one out.

Google have released a new version of Google Earth, comparing the two I have to say Google is much better!
