Default Microsoft Mobile Browser

I was just reading on a new browser microsoft is making for mobile devices. Sounds good, my last 3 phone have all had the internet on them but I never really used it because the sites were all pretty rubbish and it wsa hard to navigate, maybe this will fix some of the problems.

Are you talking about their "Deepfish" browser?

Sounds interesting, but I think I'd prefer websites to render in a simplified text version for my mobile, rather than having a picture that I have to zoom in on to see parts of the screen...

Interesting...

Though mobiles these days seem to have more in common with tiny computers than phones. Screens seem to be getting larger compared with say 10 years ago when the trend was to make things as compact as possible.

I used to be quite fond of that thing you could do with your tv remote control on Teletext where you could enlage just the top half of the screen then then middle then the bottom. Made things far easier to read!

True. But if you want a truly "mobile" browser (that actually fits in your pocket!) then there's a limit to what it can display, and I would personally like to be able to get the info I need quickly and clearly. From the look of that screenshot on the Deepfish site, you are going to have to scroll this way and that, or zoom in and out all the time! I don;t think its going to be as simple as the teletext way - that operated in a logical order, showing you the top bit followed by the bottom bit!

Have you tried Opera Mini? It's quite fully featured.
