Google has reformatted its maps service to include a text view feature. This option makes the map image smaller and has added more text information and images for business.

The new layout places much more emphasis on the content rather than the map its self and gives the option to include a photo for you business. Having a photo next to you business has proven to increase click through rates.

Google Maps in the US has also launch a street view, this is a program designed to let you walk through the street of several major US cities via your web browser. This has no impact or use in terms of SEO but it a great toy, who knows where this may end up, showing your office building, directions, or even the way to the nearest subway!
