You need to speak to your hosting company about how to upload onto your web server. This is usually done with an FTP (File transfer protocol) program. You will need the host/login details that your hosting company provided you. If you use the Firefox browser, there is an FTP extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684
As for protecting from download....I'm presuming you mean that you want to host them on your site, but not make them available publicly? Again, you may need to speak to your hosting company to see what they offer, but usually you can make a directory (folder) on your website restricted access where you require a username and password. This means no-one can access anonymously and you can give out logins to only those people you want to give access to. Hope that helps.
