I wish to transfer my .eu domain names from one registrar to another.
How long before the expiry of the domain names must I initiate the transfer? Can I transfer the domain names just 10 or 15 days before they are about to expire? Or must it be at least a month like with .com domain names? If I transfer a .eu domain name, will its registration period extend for a year, as is the case with .com and other TLDs? I have heard that EURid don't add an extra year on top of the registration period remaining with the existing registrar. Thank you |

You can transfer your .eu domain up till the day before the current registration period ends as it normally takes just a couple of hours to complete as long as you have access to the email address registered against the domain. Other wise we would recommend you give you self a minimum of 7 days before the current registration period ends.
With the system we use the domain registration period will be extended for one year from the current renewal date, some registrars will only extend the registration to 12 months from the point of the transfer completing, which means you would loose the remaining registered period.
