Default Web Design Mistakes: Fonts and Text

One of the most common mistakes in web design today is poor use of text and fonts. The primary purpose of the web is to disseminate information, so you should expect that your website visitors are going to spend considerable time reading. That means that your text should be as accessible and easy-to-read as possible. For example, you should make sure you use web-safe fonts that everyone has installed, such as Arial or Verdana. You should also make sure your text is large enough to read, and is in a dark colour on a pale background. Sans-serif fonts are easiest to read on a screen.
