Secure http, or https, is a secure protocol designed to be used in conjunction with http on websites where there is the need for encryption of data, such as credit card or email account login details. Using https is important if you offer any ecommerce features on your website, as many customers will look for the secure symbol, and will not trust websites which don't feature https.
