Smart phones, such as Apple's iPhone, may have an effect on the way that mobile browsing works. For example, internet access on smart phones is gained via WiFi, which is much cheaper and faster than dialup. Also, touch-screen technology means that chunkier buttons will be easier for web users to press. The improved web browsers on smart phones may also make a difference to the way that websites for mobile users are designed, and the iPhone's ability to display web pages horizontally will remove the need for sideways scrolling.
