CNAME Record (Canonical Name Record) is an entry in your DNS zone file that aliases a FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) to another FQDN (i.e. www.your.com or your.com). In other words, the CNAME record specifies another domain to which the user would be redirected.
Example CNAME: Alias: forum.yourdomain.com - Hostname: www.yourforum.com
